Hi Gerry,

You might want to put a short letter about this to neighbours in the area to encourage attendance.

Even better if you door knock at the same time. If you plan to do this let me know and I?ll come and help in a non political way.

Slightly annoyed that there has been, to my knowledge, no notification from Southwark of this meeting. Still, I have written to them twice regarding the redevelopment and have not had the courtesy or a response yet so not surprising.

I have been in somewhat painful correspondence with Southwark over the lack of interest in forming a project group for this redevelopment. Apparently 4 'households' registered interest, less than the required 5 people.

If you did register interest please let me know, whilst Southwark have not indicated they will form a group I would like to press them if there was sufficient interest.

thanks

Consult about what ? If is was private land it would be built by now . If there aren't any planning issues what are they consulting on? Do you want it ? ... no I live next door. No I dont? Dont get me wrong we have council land next to us which i would be fighting for eedevelionent if it happens but it's a planning issue

there are probably secondary things like brick colour and layout which are influenceable by local opinion.

The council is influenced by public concerns ie a shortage of public housing and a tidal wave of homelessness. Serious local concerns about safety etc could influence it the other way.

I own a flat directly opposite the garages and have just inspected the drawings at Dulwich library. They are proposing 4 town houses, in line with the upper level of the Church building, no provision for parking, with large windows looking into my property. Seems a bit much that they need to go from a single story structure - ie garage's with flat roof's, to a 3 storey structure. I'll oppose this on the basis of, a 3 storey will effect my light, no provision for parking on a plot of land that is fairly sizable, and large windows effecting my privacy. I hope others on Bassano Street also object when the planning is proposed. However... Southwark Council, hiring architects to provide drawings, to be presented to Southwark Council planning department.. where's the conflict of interest there?

Just reviewed consultation boards.

3bed terraced houses on a side street in East Dulwich without dedicated off-street parking...that?s what this area is almost entirely made up of.

The boards only show scale of buildings, not their proposed design, so concerns about window sizes are misplaced.

Anyone objecting to this is wasting their time.

There is nothing controversial here.

I am really disappointed by the design of these which are very different from what was shown at the consultations. The second floor level is ugly and not at all in keeping with the buildings around. I was also assured that the idea was for the brickwork to blend in with the buildings nearby. I will be opposing the design.

    • Avoid companies that are run by non trades people Seems to be the trend lately. Check them on Companies house first. There are some great family companies or sole traders. LMQ Roofing 07860 467708 [email protected] ANR Roofing 08009330439 Fist on my list is Liam McQueen https://www.lmqroofingservices.com/ Honest, reliable, constant updates, proper written quotes professional and lovely polite workers. Great work. Also though we did not use them in the end ANR Roofing based in Wimbledon offered some sound advice and quote.  Also very lovely family run firm. And Crest Roofing based in EC1V 2NX came and gave a quote and seemed very lovely with some advice also. 07934 975769
    • Had a terrible experience with this company recently. Their rooofers were abusive and really not nice. Simple job to remove an aerial which we knew would mostly cost in scaffold turned into a nightmare, They dug up old rotten boards in our front garden (there for beetles) and use under the scaffold. When we questioned the positioning of the scaffold (we needed it down the side and not on top of plants and garden) I received a torrent of offensive teenage sexist shouting. The main guy doing this was called Jimmy. They did eventually remove the aerial (no tools to do so I had to supply) They told us the side of the hip needed new timbers and re-roofing. We'd recently had it inspected and it looked good (I'm a carpenter by trade and went and looked at rafters inside - no issue. They seemed to take offense at my carpentry knowledge also. They pulled ridge tile off then told us it would be 3200 to repair!! Stood on a non load bearing lead canopy and more.  Left cooked food and rubbish in garden, Just avoid them is my advice. One of an ever increasing number of firms owned not by trades people who subcontract and pay the scaffolders pennies. I'll do recommendations in another post!
    • I live locally and am on Lordship Lane and North Cross Road most days. I've never been forced into traffic, or noticed any problem in any of these places! I appreciate that might be different with a buggy or mobility aid. I like to see people enjoying themselves outside.
    • It's good that you've never personally had to experience poison being left but it is a known fact in this area. It's not fly tipping - people leave food out for foxes but there are also people who purposefully leave food out to kill animals.
