Both me and my husband have work on this half term which means we are not doing anything special with my daughter apart from endless playdates with her friends (which she loves of course).

We do have thursday morning free - any ideas where to take her as a treat? We need to be back home by 2pm so whatever it is has to be reasonably close. She is nearly 6.

Swimming she would love... soft play I think she has outgrown unless she goes with her friends.

Was thinking more like a museum or similar. I like the idea of the sticker room at the Tate but not sure it would keep her attention for very long.

The Albany (Deptford) have a wonderful childrens production on The Forest which is on until Thursday - there is a 11.00 show .... great threatre, space for lunch afterwards .....

Other than that (and easy to get to on overland) is Childrens Museum (Bethnal Green) and Geffrye Museum, all usually have activites over half term ....

Lots of stuff on at the Southbank this week - including freebie 'Become a Superhero' at 11am on Thursday:

"Become a superhero in this workshop with artist Laura X Carle and storyteller Rachel Rose Reid, who will help you decide what your superhero powers are.

Choose and decorate your superhero cape and eye mask. Then pick a name and be photographed in your final superhero pose."

Follow with a nice lunch in one of the many eateries.

I took my 6 year old daughter on a day out to the V and A recently. They have this fab back pack system which you borrow and they have activities to do in different areas. We then went and ogled the jewels (this was satisfying for both of us) and had then bought a postcard making set in the shop for sending postcards about said day out to Grandparents. Perfect day on a number of levels for her, she still talks about it, and I loved it too!

    • You may have more success posting on ED facebook….personally, not a fan  of social media but where I have moved to in the country, this seems to be the main way  of communication. A suggestion for you - well a couple actually - there is a cafe at the edge if Telegraph Hill which might be worth a shot with a pizza stand attached - from memory think it is called White Rabbit or something like that. Cafe has odd evenings when they have music  as well. Not sure if you are to young but give them a go. Get some leaflets/cards done and pop through letterbox or on car windscreen in local area offering your services to clean cars… sure you have done this already. Wish you all the best.
