crescent
We have torn/stained (bad cat...) carpets upstairs and really need to replace all of them. As we were in Bluewater yesterday we got a quote at John Lewis. Ouch. I do love good ole' JL, their service even includes moving all the furniture, but unless the lottery comes up, we're stuck. Many moons ago we had our kitchen and bathroom floors done by the carpet place on Lordship lane, but weren't cheap, and work not great... Any other recommendations? Thank you! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21963-good-place-to-get-carpets/ Share on other sites

PeckhamRose
Have bought new carpets from Lordship Lane Carpets. Yes, not cheap, but we thought the service and quality absolutely excellent. And happy not to use a carpet shop chain. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21963-good-place-to-get-carpets/#findComment-522946 Share on other sites
Peckham native
E J Carpets at Perry Vale Forest Hill. Cannot fault them. From the measuring up to the selecting and taking home of multiple samples to the fitting they were brilliant. I was also pleasantly surprised at the price! buddug
I can highly recommend Lordship Lane Carpets. They recently laid engineered flooring throughout my flat, and Steve (who may also lay carpet, I'm not sure) did an excellent job. An absolute perfectionist. Ian and Derek in the office were also very good. treehugger
We have used LL carpets for many, many years in two houses and they have always been excellent and done a really good, speedy and quality job. I would recommend. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21963-good-place-to-get-carpets/#findComment-522998 Share on other sites
jim cox
Hello, I'm a local fitter and can also source most makes of carpet you see in shops, and supply them at trade prices. I've been recommended on the forum before and I'm registered with Southwark Council Trading Standards. My number is 07901834901. Many thanks, Jim Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21963-good-place-to-get-carpets/#findComment-523173 Share on other sites

Stack
I found Jim Cox through this forum and joined it just to post my recommendation. He did a brilliant job carpeting my stairs and first floor. Very reasonable, professional and as has also been mentioned, a lovely bloke too. Wouldn't use anybody else.
