awilliams123
Anyone find that it stings baby's gums before it gets to work? Is this normal? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21953-bonjela/ Share on other sites
Townleygreen
Yes it always stung me before it started to numb things. No pain, no gain I guess. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21953-bonjela/#findComment-523091 Share on other sites
The Nappy Lady
I think Anbesol liquid is much more effective for gum pain -its a topical anaesthetic which you means you can also give pain relief such as Calpol etc. The instructions give details of how to use on babies - you have to request it over the counter. I've had a chemist say it isn't for babies before but they are wrong - it says it's ok in the leaflet & my doctor also recommended it. Saffron
A second vote for Anbesol. :) The numbing agent is similar to Bonjela. I think one is lidocaine and and one is benzocaine, but Anbesol is in a different base. I think Bonjela is in an ethanol base and that's why it stings on broken gums.
