Old laptop to borrow

Hi all, my partner works in a school and one of her sixth form pupils is struggling to finish his coursework as he has no computer at home, he?s a really good kid but his mum has been seriously ill and can?t afford one. The school are a nightmare to get anything organised. Any chance someone has and old one knocking around they can donate or lend for a couple of months? Just needed for internet, word and PowerPoint so does not need to be high spec. Thanks

You might find a grant-giving trust on Turn2Us [https://grants-search.turn2us.org.uk/] and possibly through Turn2Us Funds. You can filter the search for studying, carer, location etc. The Buttle Trust (ButtleUK - https://grants-search.turn2us.org.uk/grant/buttle-uk-13926?iframe=False&postcode=se220ah) might be a good place to start, although from a quick search there may be a couple of trusts in Southwark.

Also Acts 435 is a charity [https://acts435.org.uk] that provides small grants via crowdfunding. You would need to find the local advocate and apply through them [https://acts435.org.uk/join/advocates?region=london]. Locally, the Copleston Centre Church, Pecan in Peckham High St and All Saints Church, Peckham are listed, but there might be one closer to the pupil's address.
