Missing kitchen worktop problem

I want to remove my double oven (2 ovens and hobs side by side) and replace with a regular sized oven and hob. I can fill the oven hole with a cupboard. But I will be left with a substantial bit of missing worktop that I will need to compensate for. Whilst my existing worktop is wood, I would like to place stone in this new spot (and around the new hob) like a makeshift chopping board of sorts.

For those of you still with me....

My question is, can I buy just a small bit of worktop anywhere or an offcut and who would fit such a small piece (in that they would need to be able to cut a hole in it for the new induction hob I want). It?s likely too small a job for a kitchen contractor.

Any ideas appreciated.
