The going home for the weekend song thread...come on you groovey foookers

Ah, I'm so Bored with the USA, that changed so much for me almost 40 years ago. So disappointed when Mick Jones said that it started of with "I'm so bored of you" (ie a partner, until someone suggested that USA sounded better). Three years later and the Clash were certainly not bored of the USA (and no criticism as their music peaked at that point). I digress, here is my song for Nigel Farage (and I suppose Trump).

Hope my posting of the link works

If anything goes may I be forgiven for promoting my mate Andy's band (he's the drummer), The Buffalo Riot? They're getting quite a good reputation and airplay in their hometown of Liverpool and supported The Bros.Landreth at The Garage in Islington last year.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
