The printer I use at work counts the pages printed and based on that tells you, you are low on ink. Reset the counter for the different colours and bingo, no more low on ink messages. Plenty of You Tube videos on the subject as to how to do it. You won't find it in an instruction manual I'd guess.

I always use this place for excellent compatible cartridges

ETA: But as far as I can tell, the cartridges are in fact empty when the printer says they are.

It's an Epson.

Has anyome tried HP's Instant Ink? You pay a monthly fee to be able to print X number of pages and the cartridges are posted out to you. It's meant to work out cheaper but I've found it a bit pants so far. The cartridges take a week to arrive (longer if I have to go to the sorting office to pick them up) and (when I do have ink) I zoom through my page allowance - HP seems to double or triple count pages if they contain dense printing. Anyway, I'm thinkimg about cancelling my subscription but I wondered if anyone has used it and got it to work for them?

    • What is also happening - I don't know about Sainsbury's as I no longer shop there, but certainly in other supermarkets and with some manufacturers - is that products remain the same price but the quality or quantity is reduced. Just one example: I buy Waitrose Essential tissues, only because they have plain boxes with no branding once they are in use, and I like the colours (blue for the large ones and mauve  for the smaller ones). The tissues in the mauve box have recently become so thin that they disintegrate virtually immediately you use them. Same with Cushelle quilted toilet rolls. Well, they don't disintegrate, which would be revolting, but they have also got so thin that it's hardly worth buying the quilted ones. And as for  PG Tips ...... 🤬
