sheilarose Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 Apparently the burning eyes are produced by high levels of urine in the water and nothing to do with chlorine. I don't know if that's true, but I grew up in sunnier climes and we had a pool and although we used plenty of chlorine, I never had red stinging eyes. Lozellen Posted February 1, 2012 Share Posted February 1, 2012 I used to lifeguard in a newish pool with a UV filtration system when I was doing my A-levels more than ten years ago so not particularly new thing. However made enormous difference and didn't feel like my eyes were burning out of my skull each time I got in the pool...
