Claribel
My daughter has recently got really into listening to stories and nursery rhymes on CD. We have a reasonably good separates system which we play them on, but of course she wants to do it herself and we'd rather not let her as the risk of it breaking is pretty high. Does anyone have a recommendation for a robust CD player (or should I convert onto MP3) or what is the best solution for playing music and stories to children? She is 2 and a half. Thanks a lot Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21739-toddler-friendly-way-of-playing-cds/ Share on other sites
sunbob
We show our lo how to hold cd carefully with fingers on edge and through hole then closely supervise putting in. She can obviously then press the buttons required. We also remind her that cd must be held like this or it won't work anymore. Works pretty well as holding is closely monitored and she wants to do it well. sunbob
Sorry, just reread your post and not sure I answered it. What I meant was any system is probably ok if you just tell them how to do it, why its important and then closely supervise. dutchestatefamily
HiOur son was given a Sony ZS-E5... when he was 2 by a relative which was way too young! we put it in a cupboard and have just got it out now that he is 4. he can use it fine now. it has big buttons that are easy to press and an easy to open cd cover. it's portable with a big handle ... its quite small.it also has a radio. hope this helps! nunheadmum
My 2 were given a Crayola cd player by my sister and it's fairly sturdy and easy to use.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crayola-Portable-Boombox-Activity-Centre/dp/B000IZ6Y34I think you have to accept that if you let young kids and CD's together, the CD's may not last too long. Depending on the child, they can be quite delicate. (My eldest always was great, youngest isn't as quite so good.) But ours haven't been too bad and it can be a great way to keep them occupied......some ballet music CD's and a tutu mean happy kids and I get time for a cuppa! (And some classic video clips!) alieh
I bought this one at a car boot sale and it is really good. The sing along microphones are quite good fun and you can turn off the microphone feature if the "singing" gets a bit much!http://www.mothercare.com/ELC-Sing-Along-CD-Player/dp/B005FM2SSK Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21739-toddler-friendly-way-of-playing-cds/#findComment-518956 Share on other sites
