In an effort to reach those who have previously posted on the thread entitled "Piplings nursery" and were asking how they could show their support for the campaign to keep it open and with apologies to those who have already seen this message on that other thread.....

Many many thanks to all those who have taken the time to post messages of support.

As parents of children who attend Piplings, we feel very strongly about the nursery and would be devastated if this valuable community resource has to close ? not just because it would be difficult to find alternative childcare in an area where it is sorely lacking but because Piplings offers something so very special.

Please visit our website at www.friendsofpiplings.org for further information and to sign our petition.

Thank you again for your support, it means a great deal to us.

Thanks Pickle, and everyone else for their support. Over 150 signatures online now, plus 50 or so more from the weekend when some of us were out talking to local residents about this. The overwhelming sense of support for the nursery has been brilliant. If you do support the nursery, the petition is still open so feel free to add your name at www.friendsofpiplings.org
Good to see this story gaining coverage in the Evening Standard. i really hope those people who are trying to force it's closure are taking heed of the support the nursery has, both locally in ED and FH, as well as London wide. It would be such a shame for such an outstanding childcare provider to be forced to close by a piece of property law designed for a whole different era of family life.

Hi there

I'm pleased, as a very happy parent, to say that Piplings is still open! There are places available at East Dulwich branch, and some spaces (I think) at Forest Hill too. Best way to contact them is via email (they are busy with running the nurseries during the day!). Email address is [email protected]

    • Hi mate,  Yeah its very frustrating for sure. Thanks for the advice, I’ve registered it and reported it to the police but they shut the case in a couple of hours, as you said not much they can do.    I’ve been looking around on sale website but I feel like its more stress than its worth unfortunately.

    • Tennis got really popular over the COVID period and all the clubs round here ended up with long waiting lists.   Put yourself on the list for all of them anyway, things might move faster than you think, definitely for Dulwich Sports as they may be about to get planning permission to build new courts.  Ask about off-peak membership if you work from home, it's often much easier to get and some clubs will give priority to off-peak members when full places come up.   In the meantime, most of the clubs on your list offer group and individual coaching to non-members with a guest fee.   And sign up for local tennis leagues which organises matches at all levels in the local parks - there's a league for Kennington and Brockwell Parks which is really good and a slightly gentler one for Belair and Dulwich Parks.  I did this for a couple of years and had a lot of fun.   https://www.lta.org.uk/compete/adult/local-tennis-leagues/
