Strangely our green bin and brown bin have been stolen - southwark council are brilliant and will replace them free of charge, so why are they worth stealing? I would also like to big up the bin men whom actually come to our door to collect the wheelie bin when I forget to put it at the front of the garden - I am never awake early enough to thank them but they deserve a mention!

I've had a few bin thefts over the years(always replaced within days of me contacting Southwark Council)-mainly the recycling boxes-which I guess were handy for storage-but I too wonder who steals wheelie bins?

Jeremy- you might be in the situation I was in a few months back-council replaced my bin as requested-but it got nicked before I even got home form work!-wouldn't have known except my neighbour tipped me off.

They cost about ?80 so worth nicking if you are that way inclined. Useful on a farm , in factory or if you have a business and don't want to pay for a business waste contract. Also good for Hiding in as "My Close Friends " tell me. If you get the ref!
