Dear book group,

We have been invited to a recording of BBC 4 book club with Jim Naughtie.

From Dymphna Flynn who is the producer:

I?d welcome a group of you along on Thursday 16th January to talk to JAMES MEEK on the People?s Act of Love. To arrive at 1740, BBC Broadcasting House London W1A 1AA, finishing at 1915

Here?s a review from when it was first published

https://bookpage.com/reviews/4437-james-meek-peoples-act-love

Very best

Dymphna

These events are always good fun. Naughtie is very disarming and charming as is Dymphna. You get ushered up to the Boardroom and are given a glass or two of wine. The atmosphere is very relaxed. You will need to read the book and send in two questions. If on the night you feel too shy to ask that's fine. Nearby there is a Thai restaurant which is cheep & cheerful.

So if you would like to go then let me know and I will put you forward.

All the best,

Chick

    • My camera security camera has picked up some footage in recent weeks of the same man carrying a Jerry Can and large amount of piping doing the rounds in the night around Underhill and Wood Vale.  I’ve seen the same man on several occasions now, and also noticed a large amount of fuel spilt a few weeks ago down Langton Rise and Underhill Road the day after I caught the footage.  Obviously, more modern cars are less susceptible to this, so if you have an older car, it’s worth checking your fuel levels and what preventative measures you can take.  If you have any footage of your own from your doorbell/cameras, or have had fuel taken, or have any more information, do let me know as will be passing this on to the police as I’m already aware of one person who has suffered from this.
