congestion zone

I live in Devon and come and visit family in Upland Road regularly. I've read that inside the south/north circular is going to be the edge of the new congestion zone starting for non residents on 19th April this year. How is this going to work?

Don?t believe that is the case, however ULEZ will be implemented On April 8th I belive, within the existing CCharge area, most petrol cars built before 2005 and diesels cars/vans built before September 2015 will need to pay ?12.50 on top of the CCharge. The ULEZ is in place 24/7.

In 2021, the ULEZ will be extended to the North and South circulars, this includes residents within the area.

Nah. Not yet. 2021 at the earliest. There is a new Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) that replaces the old Congestion Charge Zone and you have to pay extra if you car doesn't meet certain emission standards. In 2021 the plan is to extend the ULEZ to the North and South Circular boundary.

Also, the new central London uLEZ is 24 hour operation, on top of the usual CC charge times.

To be clear, you will have to pay both charges, CC and ULEZ if your car is not compliant for the existing CC area.
