That's fabulous Pickle, you're doing amazingly :)

I lost 4lbs this week which although is good is only compensating for my last 2 weeks weight gain. I'm now 34lbs down so am chuffed but just need to continue and not have another blip

I swam 2km on Monday which i'm still feeling in my body today however i'm feeling very pleased with myself so really upping my fitness hoping that it will keep the weight loss falling off.

How's everyone else doing?

Thanks Pickle for the words of encouragement and well done to you and Pebbles on the weight loss again. Excellent work!!! I feel much better about it now, particularly as I just found some photos of me 2 weeks after baby was born - we had some professional shots done of whole family (siblings, partners, cousins, kids) for my grandfathers 90th so I couldn't say No, but its good to have them because there is a massive difference between now and then! And I'm also starting to get a few comments too, which is a huge boost.

Total weight loss so far is 28lbs and thats since January 1st!!! If i can lose another 7 i'll be thrilled but target weight would be 7 more on top of that...

I did go to a baking group last night though and ate 7 pieces of cake so may have to write this week off. Boo. But golly it was nice to be let loose amongst carbs and fat and chocolate and icing etc etc eek...

Nabz i've been doing WW on my own - couldn't face going to classes with 2 small kids - the nearest one at a convenient time was at a church at the top of Barry Road on Wednesday mornings, but there are a few in Peckham in the evenings - check the website. But with just the app on my iphone its been incredibly easy to follow. I have to say the biggest motivator is knowing other people who are dieting - this thread, other mums, my sister - makes a massive difference as i have someone to moan to/gloat to each day if necessary!

It works for some and not others but you should definitely give it a go!

Looking forward to more exercising this saturday. Hope you're all having a good week x

Thanks Pebbles. Weigh-in this morning showed no change, neither up nor down, which means over the last 5 weeks i've only gone down 3lbs, which is disheartening. However, I suddenly clicked just now that i get 14 extra points for breastfeeding but with weaning and one bottle of formula a day i'm now "mix-feeding" so the extra points aren't necessary and i've probably been overeating for a week or two. I'm supposed to drop 7 points now, so from today i go from 40 down to 33. Eek. Have just been scraping by with 40 so this is going to be a serious challenge...

Hope everyone is doing ok x

I'm in denial of the fact that I'll have to drop points when baby Pickle starts weaning. Suppose it's wrong to refuse her anything but breast milk till she's 5 just so I can keep on with the chocolate and wine...?

Good luck with the reduced points, I'm sure it will get the weight moving again.

33 points......what luxury!! Although I guess having lost 7 a day, it doesn't feel like it to you, Grotty.

Another week of 'null points' for me too on the weight loss. (Although do want to know how you managed to eat 7 pieces of cake and not gain.....I feel like I only have to look at one!!) Had lost a pound mid-week but somehow it crept back on. Have tried mixing up breakfasts, varying exercise, allowing a few more points from my weekly allowance....but not achieved what I'd hoped.

On the plus side, have had a few folk asking if I've lost weight and some of my clothes are definitely feeling more generous than they once were, so at least it feels like I'm getting somewhere, even if the scales are telling me different!

While I have not done WW I thought I would share my experience which was that early on despite drastically changing my diet I had very slow or no weight loss at all initially. It seemed that my body needed a fair few weeks to get the message and things changed dramatically once I exercised consistently. I think overall it took 3 months or more to reach my goal weight.

Having said that I need to start dieting again my good work is coming undone with my inability to go running (and eating too many cake pops may have something to do with it). I may join you good people on this thread.

nunheadmum if you want to kick start weight loss I found that having high (lean) protein diet with veg/salads etc. did the trick. If you can do protein only for a few days then even more dramatic loss. But very boring. And not great health-wise

Does anyone doing WW have the energy to meet up and tell me how to do it - I get the putting in points malarky but what do you do when you cook from scratch your own recipes? I am a fairly haphazard cook and tend to use what I can find and eat ???? size portions - how do you work out the points? Is it a complete faff? I can't do the wednesday morning meets with 2 boys one of whom still sleeps at that time....

I am painfully aware that as original author of this thread am still to report any good news...

Come for a coffee one morning SB? I can help.

Not difficult at all to work out points, most of the time I work it out for the whole lot (stew for example) then allocate points for the amount I had (quarter of the pot). Very easy if you have access to the online resources.

I stayed the same this week, not upset as I know I did everything right, all of my pre pregnancy jeans fit, and I've been exercising - experience tells me that after 10 weeks of losing every week there had to come a time where it slowed down!

Onwards and downwards, tricky week ahead with dinner party (which I'm going to point as have another WW coming along) and hubbies birthday, but feeling positive that I'll stay in control.

Been doing WW since 1 Feb and combined with training once a week, have managed to lose 1st so far. Currently on holiday though and am finding it really difficult to resist the 4-course meals every night!!! Any tips? I have brought my gym gear with me but have been avoiding them since arriving here 3 days ago....

I have taken up WW again after reading this thread! so thank you. I had my baby 20 months ago now and I am getting married next April so there are no excuses! I need to get on with it! I want to lose about three stone by my wedding and I have lost 2.5 stone since I had my daughter (I put on an awful lot of weight whilst pregnant!)

I am on 29 points and it has changed a little since I was last on it - any top tips to stay on daily allowance?

Amydown - I say go for a short run each morning and then treat yourself within reason - you are on holiday after all. But just stop when you are feeling full and say no to desserts! :)

We are on holiday in 4 weeks and I want to give myself a kickstart before we go.

Thank you for giving me back my motivation!

I lost 2lbs this wk so v haPpy. Have seriously increased my exercise so am hoping this continues

Amydown - well done on weight loss so far. Great goings. Hols r v difficult but just keep counting as correctly as possible. Don't be afraid to ask for different things than on menu. Grilled meats no sauce. Steamed veggies etc. count count and count

Fingers crossed for u. I went away in feb and failed miserably but learnt my lesson so in march I counted and was able to lose

I've just got back from a week away and didn't count a thing because it was too much of a faff. I tried to keep on track though by swimming twice a day in the pool, controlling portion size at mealtimes, and eating lots of salad. So if you can't resist the 4 courses, amydown, maybe just eat half of each plate?

Or maybe ask for a smaller portion? Eating half a plate may not work if you're trying to encourage the kids to eat their food.

I'm just quite wary of trying to lose weight while not introducing the idea of 'dieting' to the kids - I've got 2 girls. That's why I chose WW as it seems aimed more at eating healthily than diets that require special meals or cutting out particular food groups. Thankfully too there are some days when we don't eat together so I can let them have the big plates of pasta, the cheesy sauces and big puddings and keep the more slimline options for when we eat together. So far they haven't commented on anything.

Have noticed hubby having more meals with the kids these days though!!!

Hello everyone - great to hear about the progress and inspiration! I'm still around the same weight wise but getting rather frustrated about exercising: I joined the gym 3 weeks ago and only managed to go 2 times due to illness (either me or LO) - nothing serious, just colds which are bad enough not to go/use the creche.... arrrrghhh! How come EVERY time i decide to exercise and lose weight I get ill??? Feels like this has been going on forever (i.e. previous attempts at exercising were similarly sabotaged) Sooooooo frustrating :(
Hi everyone I love reading ur stories about ur weight loss but mine is just not happening!! I'm feeling so fat and disgusting :( and then I go and have comfort food... I'm obsessed with chocolate after having my baby 3 months ago and the weight has finally caught up with me! I just can not motivate myself I'm always so tired and other excuses :( wish I could have a flat belly with out hard core diet or exercising lol. If only I could afford lipo lol!! And breastfeeding is making me more hungry!
Nabz, I still get to eat chocolate on WW. If you're breastfeeding you get loads of extra points, by the end of most days I still have enough leftover for a crunchie bar as well as something else :). That's why I love it so much, I never feel like I'm on a diet, and I serve the same meals up to hubby and kids too as it's not "diet" food, just normal healthy cooking.

So, I got back from holiday yesterday and "faced the scales" to find that I had lost 2 pounds. I was really happy but now it's really confusing me. Before holiday, my weekly weight movement had been 1 or 2 pounds loss per week but this involved me really watching what I eat, 1 hardcore session with a trainer in gym and 1 gym session or a run on my own. On holiday, square three meals (some including the aforementioned 4-course meal) and very little movement. I let myself go a bit! The only thin I noticed was that baby was feeding more frequently (heat?)...

Pickle, can you think of an explanation for this?

Mima08, have you thought about putting a temporary childcare in place? Just for, say 2-3 hours a week with a nanny so that you can go to the gym? Some nannies with charges in school might be interested for instance. Gives you an extra incentive to use the hours wisely!

Nabz, I sympathise with you. When I had my second baby 4m ago, my weight wouldn't shift and I was getting really frustrated. I also had the chocolate cravings. WW really is great as it lets you eat the stuff you want as long as you portion control. Good luck!

That's a result Amy! Could be a number of things, baby feeding more certainly a factor. It could also be that your efforts from a couple of weeks prior have shown up now. With my own weight loss I tend to find the results of a really good week can show a week later.

Or it could be that your metabolism needed a shakeup, and your holiday has done that for you.

Just watch what you eat and exercise for the next couple of weeks and hopefully any excesses won't catch up with you. How brilliant, well done on a great result.

P x

After staying the same last week I lost 2lbs this week, so I'm very happy. The end is in sight now.

I was out on Monday night and hadn't done much exercise over the week, so went for a run once the kids were in bed last night - in torrential rain, hail, and then bizarrely warm sunshine for the last 10 mins. I felt brilliant afterwards, but as I headed out the door to start running I did question my sanity!

Hope you are all having a good week.

Well done Pickle - very impressed with the run

I had a phenominal 3 1/2 lbs this week which has finally taken me below where i was when i had my blip so am thrilled. I've seriously upped my exercise but actually i ate more of my weeklies this week!! and i had an enormous amount of water

Amy - that's amazing re weight loss. I hate it when it just doesn't make sense but celebrate the loss and fingers and toes crossed this week is just as positive

How's everyone else.

hi everyone, good to hear that everyone is getting on well! i just recently closed my gym membership but is a positive havnt been since i got it! so atleast im saving a bit of money :P another positive is that iv decided to start walking a lot more now going from nunhead to east dulwich everyday to try start up my fitness again! although iv got to say i deffinitly do not feel as fit as before i was pregnant! but guess its only been 3 months just need to keep at it

nabz

Hello all - Pickle, you are an inspiration! And great results pebbles!

I've not managed a run in the rain, but went to the gym 3 times, yippee! Total 3hrs this week, so feeling chuffed. Cannot see any loss on the scales but feel more toned, and glad that I have started attacking the emerging bingo wings....

Nabz - 3months is really early days, and walking that distance is a good effort!

Keep it up, ladies and have a lovely weekend!
