Many thanks for all of your ideas - however as I was writing this request, our colleague had the baby a month early and with a 2 hour labour. She had a routine ante natal in the afternoon, went to bed as usual, woke up 2 hours later as waters broke, went to hospital - 2 hours later a 5lb boy, went home had a shower and phoned a work colleage at 6.30 am to casually announce the birth.

Some of the suggestions will be followed.
