minimac
Has anyone any great ideas of holiday location with an 18 month old. We are seriously considering a mark Warner as it will give my husband and i a total break from cooking etc and the option of evening babysitting (I know day care is available but not sure we'll use it). Ideally we are looking for a two bed apart or large room with an alcove/large bathroom to put sleeping baby in (best sleep for all that way!) and I know you can upgrade your room options accordingly (seemingly at great expense!) but are there any other holiday companies out there that offer good quality accommodation?? (not 5* just clean and comfortable) with an option of evening babysitting and no cooking/car hire involved.....or are we thinking of the impossible..?Many thanks in advance. catgirl
Have a look at:http://www.kinderhotels.com/uk-index.htmbut check the blurb for each hotel as some only offer childcare from 2 years. Rooms all have separate bedrooms for children so you dont' have to sit in the dark after the children are in bed!But if you just want evening babysitting rather than daycare, you can probably get something cheaper. Try the baby friendly boltholes website or just do a google search on family friendly holidays - there are lots of family resorts where you can get babysitting and where food is included. (have not stayed in any myself so can't reccommend but have defintely seen lots when I've been researching holidays in the past) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21236-holidaying-with-18month-old/#findComment-511566 Share on other sites
Monkey
We go to Mark Warner in Bodrum and that's fantastic. They have very good childcare facilities and everything is done to make your stay with kids easy (foog appropriate for kids for example - which can be a nightmare in a more traditional resort)They also have a doctor on site.If you want to holiday in the UK, Center Parcs is fab. Make sure you get one of the new style lodges which have been all done up. amydown
Just booked our holiday at Sani Resorts following recommendations on the forum and really looking forward to it! Some of the rooms are have a seperate bedroom and they have good deals on at the moment for certain periods, that include HB. Have very good reviews on Trip Advisor.http://www.sani-resort.com/en_GBCreche takes babies from 4months - 4 yr olds and it's run by Worldwide Kids company at the hotel site. We had used them at another resort in Cyprus before and they were really good. The hotel also offers free transfer from/ to airport if you book online for more than 5 nights I think and they arrange car seats.Good luck! pommie
pefki islands resort in Rhodes, Greece is lovely. We have been a few times (although not with our daughter yet). It has two resorts where you can use all the facilities. It is about a 5 minute walk from restaurants but down a quiet road so you dont hear any noise from the restaurants/bars. It has 3 huge swimming pools and kids swimming pool, people are very friendly and place is clean!
