Yes I was told I had gestational diabetes with our youngest when we had the last scan as the baby was showing big and they reckoned she would be around 9lb when born. I had to test my sugars after every meal and keep a record of whatever i ate so that I could try to work out what was making my sugars high (or low). I was even referred to a dietician to be told what i could and couldnt eat. Anyway the hospital decided to induce me a week before my due date and to my surprise our daughter was exactly 9lb! As soon as I had our daughter my sugar levels went back to normal
Thanks for the answers ladies. I am with kings so not sure if I would fall under the lewisham criteria but I was definitely not offered the GTT due to PCOS as a risk factor. I've been asking about it on an online forum for Pcos and it just seems that the policy about PCOS as a risk factor for GD just differs in different PCTs or even with different consultants (although I'm not consultant led anyway) and that also it might be confounded by the fact that lots of PCOS is accompanied by a high BMI which would be another reason to have a GTT. Not sure if, due to my PCOS I should have pushed for it more at the time, but I have not been showing any other symptoms/markers and baby size has been on track all the way through so hopefully all fine with 3 weeks to go! Perhaps I'll be more aware of it and ask more questions if I'm ever pregnant again.
I remember the scanners and midwives telling me that baby strawbs was going to be 'enormous' and he had a very distended belly (sign of a GD mum) and as it turned out even though I only took one newborn outfit he was only 7.9 so was little in my opinion, we had to run out and buy newborn outfits which were all big on him! X

    • Oh dear. Sadly I had a disappointing meal on Saturday night. I should have read Malumbu's review above before I ordered. I thought I'd have a dosa for a change. Our meal arrived very quickly. However the dosa was more like a thick and very soggy pancake. The filling was fine. The sambar (sp?) was fine. The chutneys were not what I was expecting, and had a consistency more like sauces.  That might be my lack of knowledge of South Indian food, but I would have expected the coconut chutney to at least taste a bit like coconut. I left most of the actual dosa. My OH said his aubergine curry was delicious. I don't know whether the problem was that the dosa got soggy due to being wrapped in foil to be delivered, but tbh it didn't look like it had ever been a thin crispy dosa 😥 as I have always had in the past  at South Indian restaurants.
