Kesc
Underfloor heating broken and looking for someone to fix it! Combo boiler working for central heating but has abruptly stopped igniting for underfloor heating circuit. Not sure if problem is with manifold or connection to boiler. Or the boiler itself. Was working fine two days ago. If replying to message, please be specific about your costs and experience with underfloor heating problems. ed_pete
I'm not an expert but my guess would be the 2 port zone valve that controls the flow of hot water to the manifold. The way the system works is that when the timer is on and the thermostat detects it below the required temperature it sends power to the zone valve to open it. The valve itself contains a microswitch which is closed when the valve opens and this completes the electrical circuit telling the boiler to fire and the pump run. When the thermostat detects the required temperature is reached, power to the valve is cut and it closes, cutting power to the boiler and pump.If it's suddenly stopped this is a likely cause (but I admit not the only one !)If you can find the valve then there should be a lever on it that you can manually move which will open the valve. If you do this and the floor warms up then it's most likely the motor inside the valve that's at fault. Replacements can be bought for around ?20.
