And I felt all sad

One was originally ds1s

Bought a second for the twins

Then reused it for newest baby but now he is too big

These are the car seats we brought them home from hospital in

I know you will all understand the slightly sad feeling of time passed that can never be regained

And newest baby has shoes now, too

The day looms when he will

Leave for university (or so it feels!)

What items have you found it hard to part with?

Shoes... If I could I would keep them all

I was sad to have to sell the pram I had for biggest sb to fund the double buggy we now need - It was lovely having him lying in it and then sitting and facing me - we had good chats and it was nice and snug. Smallest has been shortchanged by never parent facing and being in the p&t cocoon.

Other than that, worryingly, pretty much everything else is still in the loft...hmm...

I've kept a favourite outfit from every stage. There's somthing about holding it, feeling the fabric, and seeing the pattern that speaks volumes more than any photograph ever could. Of course this drives poor Husband mad when he pulls open the wrong drawer looking for 2T clothes but gets a strange mix of too tiny rompers and socks instead!

it's weird, i'm not at all sentimental about that stuff. I do keep things like the babies' hospital tags from when they were born and keep meaning to put them in a scrap book along with pics of christenings/birthdays etc...one day will do it! to be honest I didn't enjoy the baby stage with my first, and am not much more with my second, so guess am not so wistful about it. I think I must be a bit strange because in fact am desperate to get rid of everything as soon as number 2 is finished with it (perhaps trying to underline that def stopping at two?!).

BUT - certain foods and smells etc can take me right back. We re-found a lullaby with ducks that tinkle round recently, used to play it to distract my first during fraught nappy changes, and the sound just transports me right back to his early days, it's quite an odd feeling.

I'm torn between feeling sad about time passing and pleased to clear some space! I've kept daughter's 1st shoes and will probably keep a few of her nicest baby clothes when I get around to sorting them out. Same for new baby. Think I will be sad to sell equipment e.g moses basket will have to go soon. Suppose it makes it seem unlikely we'll ever have number 3 but we simply don't have the room to store everything just in case...

    • Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.
    • Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
    • We hired Hanson &Co to handle painting, floor sanding and general renovation work before moving into our new home, and we were very happy with the results. Andras and his team were fantastic to work with—professional, reliable, and efficient. We've since reached out to them for additional projects and we highly recommend their work!
    • Lost oyster card in black and green wallet somewhere between the bus stop at ED station, the bus and the train from Denmark Hill to Clapham Junction. Very annoying not last because I love the wallet. Link to the wallet;    Black with Green Card Holder Scamp & Dude
