The Thoughtful Society launches with our first social night,

7pm, Wednesday 28th Nov we begin with prosecco and a talk by Rosemary Davidson and Arzu Tahsin, authors of the new book Craftfulness, which considers how making things with our hands can be a mindful act that helps us to slow down ? and can also help us consume less.

Held at 2 Girls Cafe, at the bottom of Peckham Rye Park.

The night ties in with Make Smthing Week ? the global movement which opposes the annual festival of extravagant greed that is Black Friday ? and Rosemary and Arzu will be teaching workshops in darning and bookbinding. Sign up for your ?10 ticket (2 drinks, workshop materials + charity donation) and spread the word of our craft and community loving evening ❤️

    • Hi my names milly, I’m in year 11 of school, I live in the forest hill area and am looking to do some babysitting jobs. I’m a good cook, i’m good with kids and i’ll most likely be studying, when i’m not tending to the kids, as i am nearing my GCSE’s. Message me if you’re interested and we can discuss further. x

    • How mean-minded to call the creative project of a group of enterprising youngsters, using their time productively 'foul'?  Surely taking the initiative to set this u,p so young people can be outside and exercising is a positive and productive thing to be admired? 'Underage drinking and drugs' are more likely to happen when young people have nowhere to go and nothing to do (plus they can take place anywhere!) . How is a derelict pub better?
    • Please dont redevelop....the skatepark is a  rare place where young kids can chat, connect, and do something outside of the addictive but dull world of the internet. Community is one of our most precious parts of life.
