What a super day it's been - that's the joy and frustration of test cricket.

So agree with Bob re Sky - I've been holding a one-woman protest against them since The Beautiful Game was lost to terrestial tv. Don't think I've affected their coffers yet.

As you were: deluded.

I have the laughable issue of being able to watch the game on tv during the week since my office has a Sky Sports feed on what are meant to be our "rolling news" tvs. Tour De France can be watched on our desktops. Parliament goes into recess next week.

It's going to be a good few weeks.

I'm a romantic, so it's walk everytime. Darling Geoffrey was saying that it would be impossible for all levels to maintain the spirit of cricket from schoolboy to test matches.

I think he's got it arse about face: be exemplary at the top level and let it filter down.

You weren't imagining it - Tuffers was talking with one of the Aussie commentators (forget which) about the Sydney Cricket Ground XI's tour of England which ends playing the MCC at Lords - Dulwich is one of the clubs they are playing (24th July).

    • So let's never do anything that might improve an area, because it will just be dragged down to the level of what's presently there? Is that what you are saying? I don't have the time or the inclination to do the research, but I'm pretty sure that I have read  that when people who had lived in a very run down area  were given  nice surroundings, they appreciated and looked after them.
