Brendan
I actually just made it up. I though it sounded better than ?bum in the butter?.Just read this on the Guardian?s commentary which made me laugh, "if i turn off the lights in my office, can I go home early?" Brendan
England seem to have hit a bit of a wobble here. Freddy gone for a disappointing 9 after tonking Paul Who Says a Spinner Has to Spin the Ball Harris over his head for six. Then Why am I in The Side Again Ambrose gone for 4. Brendan
What! they came out to bat. I watched Harmy get stranded on 49 and thought that was going to be it for the day. Peckhamgatecrasher
Barring the weather, I think we'll do it. But it will be a hollow victory. Brendan
England are on 195 for 9, batting at the end of the day in bad light. Pietersen?s on 99 and Monty is in on an unlikely, lucky and potentialy match saving 25. Pietersen slashes at a 90mph + outswinger from Morkle (who finishes with 5 for 51), trying to drive him through the covers. He gets and edge and the man at gully takes a brilliant diving catch. England lose, fire their captain, all their coaching staff, the whole team cry on national television, so does Ian Botham, Boycott moves the Caribbean, and Mark Nicholas gets a job presenting Cash in the attic. Peckhamgatecrasher
That's about as likely as the England team developing food poisoning from their bacon butties and Gower, Willis, Botham et al being recalled. Keef
Yeah, Monty was never going to score 25!If weather holds it's looking good, but agree it is hollow. Brendan
All SA have to do now is take 7 for 49 and they win this. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2096-idle-cricket-musing/page/17/#findComment-125090 Share on other sites
david_carnell
Trust England to make a bloody pigs ear of this run-chase. Smoothly does it and then, whoops, panic sets in! For pete's sake (or is it peet's?) sawt it aht.
