Yeh I sort of warmed towards Boris because he's such a total idiot you've got to respect him for having the chutzpah to even stand for mayor, and I can't stand Ken's nasal voice, but hey of the two I agree, BRING BACK KEN :)

Plus he likes newts, so that's a - er - plus .......

I will raise this route again, it appears the smaller buses (484, P13 and P12)are those that are running with the worst service in this area. The 484 and 343 are currently on diversion in Nunhead, this may be adding to the delays. Do any users experience 484s being terminated prematurely? Following many complaints, I had a meeting with Val Shawcross, TFL and Go Ahead who run the P12 and 63. Both these routes had problems linked to roadworks with resultant delays and the company responding by frequently turning buses round to stick to their timetable in the centre of the routes. As TFL is answerable to the Boris and he does not seem to be interested to improve bus services in South London (hence the negative response to our request to extend the 63 to Honor Oak Park Station), it's really hard to get anything done (eg more frequent buses)! There is now one extra bus running on the P12 route to help counteract the delays and reduce the likelihood that buses are turned round.

Last year when I had a gripe about the poor frequency of the 484, it was blamed on the roadworks in Camberwell. The 484 has managed to consistently maintain its erratic status since then, roadworks or not. I can't see the current diversion up Kelvington and along Brenchley causing any delay, certainly haven't noticed any delay to the 343. Can't ever recall being decanted off a 484 early, though it's an occasional hazard of the 343 especially at Elephant.

An additional observation: The 484 route could do with additional buses (perhaps at key times) as it's frequently full to capacity by the time it gets to the stop opp. Kings when heading towards Lewisham, and at the stop by Peacocks in Lewisham heading back towards Camberwell. Both these stops are virtually start of route.

The 63 quite often seems to change destination to Peckham Library or Peckham Rye part way through a journey in the evening (and I'm not talking late evening - maybe 7-7.30 ish). Also seems to be prone to run with large gaps in service even early in the evening (like a 20 minute wait at 6.30 in the evening).

I've been using this route for a good couple of years and the service has definitely gone downhill in recent months.
