Some nearby neighbours Received notification that the works would be carried out Oct 1st - 2nd but they are still ongoing with no update. James Barber
Hi pecksnff,You can see road works across London here - http://public.londonworks.gov.uk/roadworks/?x=Z11v1oqcDzF1MY77c012oAIt is not a great website - overly sensitive map function. It shows on Jarvis Road 1 October to 2 November Southwark council plan to replace the pavement and build a raised table. it also shows 18-24 October Thames Water doing 6" mains and 5m of road being dug up. KateFord
Poor Jarvis Road. It seems that it has been dug up and re-laid every few weeks for the last two years as the work is constant. Not sure if it?s to do with the pavement/Thames Water/energy suppliers or nearby school build though? pecksniff
Hi JamesChecked the site and noticed the works have now been extended by two weeks. Seems strange to be installing a raised table on such a small road. However the main concern is whether parking will still be available on this stretch of road once the school / hospital are open. pecksniff
The new resurfacing has just been completed and looks very nice but in the process at least four parking spaces have been lost and there was no consultation on this. bels123
Think it's reduced it by just 2 spaces, 1 each side. I've been told that this is to allow a fire engine to be able to turn into the new entrance, so essential. I don't know, but assume the council doesn't have to consult for those kind of safety changes. Lucy.Smith66
Does anyone know if the spaces will be removed permanently when the entrance is used on a temporary basis for the school or will they stay? It's been a real struggle to park while the roadworks were going on but has eased now it's open again.
