Chick
How many people walk down to the lights then back up to the shops? Zebra crossings are low maintenance and most drivers are very good at observing their function. Cam123
... and there is a cash point at Tesco 1 min further down! Honestly people! Won't walk 15 meters to the lights, don't want to walk 30 meters to a cashpoint. What is the world coming to when we expect things to be that convenient?! jimmah
There is a PapaJohns in Lewisham. Made a special trip there to try them out because the TV ads looked really good and they did buffalo wings. The pizzas are pretty good, they are something like a Dominos but maybe a bit posher. Their garlic dip is a bit weird though, it's not the creamy stuff but melted garlic butter and a bit sickly after a while. The buffalo sauce isn't the same as I had in the US but still good. If they open up here I will be happy! Bellenden Belle
I've had pizza at Locale and literally two minutes, on the next corner, is The Gowlett.Terribly disappointing to have not only another pizza place but a 'slightly better than Dominos' chain at that. Jeremy
Locale pizzas are good. Gowlett pizzas are lovely. Don't need another pizza place at all, especially not a pizza hut / dominos type place.Boooo. Sorry if the "die-hard bean snobs" amongst you can't find a "god-shot" locally but it's hardly a coffee wasteland. Whilst pushing your kids on a swing I'm sure the van does just fine. Thomas Micklewright
looking forward to a few more shops opening on the strip - shame to see it so empty. So have we confirmed its a Papa Johns? Shame we cant have a few more independent shops. Is there anyway (perhaps a question for the Cllrs or James Barber) that locals can campaign to stop chains like Morleys and Papa Johns? I think the great thing about ED is its community feel, and this is slowly being eroded by chains.Tom Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20743-bubble-and-squeek-east-dulwich-road/page/2/#findComment-506249 Share on other sites

KestonKid
Tried the new chippy tonight and the haddock was great - really fresh. Chips I thought a work in progress; not as good as Olleys. The seating area won't be open until March though.
