Atticus
Gutted for the guy. Perhaps people should be a little more inquisitive when buying second-hand bikes. rdokoye
Damn, it was probably taken from someone in the local area, which means they are probably trying to lay low right now. The best thing is not to give up, you may find someone riding it a week or so from now. treehugger
My kids had numerous bikes stolen, two outside newsagents in LL. Mainly because they didn't lock them up. massive d locks are needed and kids need to be aware that if they don't lock the bike will be gone in an instant. It's a hard lesson to learn but we bought them cheap bikes off eBay till they really got the message. Cruncher
I had my bike stolen recently and got interested in where they end up. Apparently the Sunday market on Nine Elms Rd is a favourite and Brick Lane Market on a Sunday. Someone told me they found their bike at Brick Lane. All the best. Guest
I sympathise, happened to me more than once. Also worth looking on Gumtree as some end up there. When you get a replacement, register the frame number on immobilise.com, the police website. Apparently they do find quite a few one way or another but can't always reunite them with their owners. When that happens they end up at (another place you could try) the police unclaimed property auctions.
