Nero
This is my second in about eight weeks. Not usually a coldy person. This is not as bad as the last, but really peed off that it's number 2 in as many months. Any thoughts? I clean my hands about eight times a day, eat lots of fruit, drink a little and stay hydrated. Peckhamgatecrasher
You need to dose up on homemade chicken soup - boil up carcass with onion, bay leaf, celery, carrot and seasoning; strain make soup. There's something in it that's good for colds - medically proven but I can't remember what. Nero
I think it is from the onions. Is it alacin? (I take garlic tabs and eat a lot of spring onions.) Nero
You might be right re heating. At work it;s been 25C and climbing! (I get them to turn it down, but some nesh souls kvetch on about their being cold even when it is this hot!) 21C is a good workign temperture, I think. Ladygooner
I swear by echinacea - although having said that had one cold this year caused by colleagues insisting on coming into work and sneezing all over me! Travelling on public transport doesn't help either. Neroi just got over my second one on Wednesday, had it from the previous Friday, but it was a bit more than a cold more like a flu, had the raised temp and headache and puked my ring up all day Monday ( not on the 176 i hasten to add) just took to the cot with copious amounts of paracetamol, ibuprofen and tea and rode out the storm, surprisingly no one else in the house caught the lurgy off me. Polly D
My parents started a 'cold chart' about 20 years ago to chart the origin, duration and 'depth' of the colds in our house ... It's still going strong today and could one day be a useful documentation of the times, ummmmm er, if you like that kind of thing. Michael Palaeologus
Not had a cold yet, which I usually do get. I had my first ever flu jab a few weeks ago.Food poisoning 2 weeks ago though - which lasted for ages. Nero
I like the cold chart! Who needs faded snaps of birthday parties and sandcastles? Nero BTW, it's def a cold (a bit better) and not a flu, which I've not had for ages. Had a flu jab. East Dulwich Angst
I think I've only had around 2 colds in the last 10 years, if not longer. I'm not complaining though.I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of lemons I consume? Ondine
yep, especially evil colds around at the moment. We're all just getting over it chez moi, and my poor daughter missed her first ever overnight school journey - unbelievable bad luck. Can recommend the latest version of Lemsip Max - I had a really painful sore throat and it sorted me out.
