Owl?

There is what sounds like an owl, hooting it?s head off near Heber Road. Could it actually be an owl, or perhaps something else? Any ideas?

I have very occasionally seen an owl in ED..

Hear them fairly often between Nunhead Cemetery and One Tree Hill. Always a treat.

Sometimes the foxes make a calling sound to each other which I've mistaken for an owl before.

One tree hill apparently tawny owls. Don?t know if any others.

The only owl that 'hoots' is a Tawny. All others 'shriek' or 'cry'.

The Barn owl definitely shrieks - scared me once or twice in the country.

I once saw an Eagle Owl - huge thing.

I've just posted about hearing an owl - it's still hooting. I'm on Dunstans and there are a lot of large trees in our back gardens. Last week I saw a sparrow hawk in my neighbours garden. So heartwarming

An owl can be heard on a regular basis around the rear of Rye Hill Estate. Joyful, except when it wakes you up like from the scene in My Cousin Vinny.
