Not specifically an East Dulwich issue - but wanted to bring your attention to a Southwark wide event. If you can't attend the event but have concerns, ideas, questions to share we'll also be setting up an online survey. If you'd like to join our mailing list and receive this info directly please email Keri Lewis at [email protected] Otherwise I will post details on this site or at www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk

Thanks.

Let?s talk about weight

Southwark has one of the highest levels of child obesity in the country. More than 40 % of the borough's children are classed as "overweight and obese" when they leave primary school, and that?s storing up a lifetime of health risks for the next generation. We need to talk about weight and what we can do to shape up Southwark for the future.

NHS Southwark and Southwark Council are holding an open discussion on 24 November to gather views, ideas and information, so if you are a Southwark resident, a concerned parent, or if you work or volunteer with families and children in Southwark, please come to join in the conversation about our children?s health.

24 November 2011

12 - 3.30pm

Thurlow Community Hall, 1 Thurlow Road SE17 2US.

Please email [email protected] or call 020 7525 0273 to find out more and book a place

    • The Oxfam shop refusal may be because they have very limited storage space at the back of their very small shop?
    • I agree. The staff are always lovely!
    • Hi, does anyone know anything about the generator that seems to run from 7am every day in the car park of Dominic Court off The Gardens? I live in a property that backs on to that car park and it’s incredibly noisy and fumey. It’s been there for a long time now and it looks like it’s powering a site office for construction workers. Does anyone have any information about how long it will be there for, and who is operating it? I worry about the quality of the air as it’s like having a truck running constantly. And it’s very annoying to have it rumbling all day.
    • Most charity shops will take rags for textile recycling. I’ve also donated to Christopher’s, Shelter on LL and Scope in Camberwell. The only one I’ve known to refuse is the Oxfam in Herne Hill.
