ed_pete
Yeah road is closed between the crossroads with Melborne Grove and Townley Road/Greendale though access is allowed at this end to Hilsboro etc. Second accident I've seen near the Melborne Road/East Dulwich Grove junction in a matter of a couple of weeks, though the other one didn't look as severe. Otto
Love to see a traffic light or something installed there. Would be helpful for pedestrians as well. James Barber
No consolation but financial years 2013/2014 East Dulwich Grove will have "measures to regulate vehicle speeds, improve pedestrian crossing points, and enhance streetscape" from memory several hundred thousand pounds of Transport for London money. Otto
Thanks James - that intersection is crossed by lots of schoolchildren and quite dangerous. It is also not terrific for cars. If you could flag that, it would be great. Just took a look at the wonky lamppost. Eeesh. Peckhamgatecrasher
Sorry to hear of your accident MsD - hope you recover from the shock. As one who has whinged about that crossing in the past, I have to admit that since the raised/coloured section of road has been put in, motorists have been far more considerate about pedestrians. Not all, but a significant number now stop at the edge of the new section and allow pedestrians to cross safely.
