This is a Plus ride which starts 30mins earlier than usual and ends an hour later. It starts at 9.30am at the Park Life Cafe in Burgess Park and ends in the same place at 1pm. The Cafe is in Chumleigh Gardens at SE5 0RJ. Or you can think of it as next to the big playground just off Albany Road. Either way will find it. It's a good place to both start and finish with kids.

In between riders will take the usual easy-paced this time longer ride: destination, the Design Museum. Jane will be leading . The outward leg will go over Westminster Bridge and through Hyde Park. Naturally there will be a coffee stop at the Design Museum and the group will return through Brompton Cemetery, over Albert Bridge and through Battersea Park.

The route will take in some of the new building around Battersea Power Station. The route map is here: https://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_4497331.html. The ride is free to join and everyone is welcome. You don't need to live anywhere or join anything to take part.

This series of year-round rides is organised by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists who are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. • A beer in the garden would have been nice, I'm sure! Mine was a meal inside. I don't remember much about it except that it was horrible.
    • Went to the Harvester a couple of times to have a beer in the garden, it was quite popular and had a 'certain' charm.
    • I never went in The Grove when it was a pub, but I had a meal there once when it was a Harvester (I used to occasionally be a Mystery Shopper, and I was persuaded to go and have this meal because it was a bank holiday and they couldn't find anyone else to do it.) It was truly horrible. At least I got paid for eating it, albeit not very much, but I think I would have paid not to have to eat it. If it becomes an "affordable" restaurant again, I hope at least it has decent food. Why do "these youngsters" need "adult help" to be enterprising? They aren't six year olds!
    • At the end of the day, whilst these youngsters have been enterprising presumably with adult help & I also assume no local youth group - the fact remains that it is a prime site fir redevelopment be it a supermarket - Aldi, Lidel whatever or social housing which, let’s be honest here lots  of people need.   Know Idea why has been derelict gor do long anyhow, but somewhere on this site I think there is a problem with who owns it. And let’s not forget the homeless man who slept there - Front on Lordship Lane who had his home destroyed by I assume vandals a couple of years ago.
