As part of its Recycling Fund for Communities, Veolia is supporting the Peckham and Nunhead Film Festival for the fourth year running, hosting a free screening of Plastic China to raise awareness on plastic recycling.

Plastic China, a feature-length documentary, depicts the lives of two families who make their living recycling plastic.

As the screening will be from Veolia?s Integrated Waste Management Facility, one of the most advanced recycling facilities in Europe, it creates an ideal platform for discussion on the plastic recycling process, and how individuals can preserve resources by recycling more.

Veolia is a founding member of the UK Plastics Pact and the UK?s leading provider of plastic waste solutions, redefining how plastic is perceived, designed and recycled in order to unlock its potential as a valuable resource.

Veolia collects and sorts general waste and recycling for residents and businesses, and has invested in state of the art recycling infrastructure, including it?s Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility to keep pace with demand.

Fabrice Bouchon General Manager at Veolia said, ?We?re proud to support Peckham and Nunhead film festival again this year, they?re a fantastic community group and it's encouraging to meet people who are passionate about protecting their local environment. Through our Recycling Fund for Communities and our education initiatives we reach hundreds of people each year and equip them with information on why recycling is important and how they can make a difference.?

The screening is free and will take place on Thursday 6 September at 8pm (doors open from 7.30pm) within Veolia?s Southwark Recycling Visitor Centre, where refreshments will also be provided. Places are limited and will be available on a first come first served basis.

Attendees will also be able to revisit the facility on 22 September for the Waste and Recycling Wonder Day, where they?ll have an opportunity to see the recycling process and learn how their waste can help build a more sustainable future, if disposed of correctly.
