CBRoad
Hoping the Mums and Dads of the EDF can help me.My nephew, who is 7 months old, will be starting swimming with his Dad after Christmas.I really want to get him everything he will need (my nephew, not his Dad) but I have no idea where to begin.I?ve had a look through some websites but I?m getting confused, especially with what he should be wearing, wetsuit, swim nappies (do they need a nappy underneath)? Also, are there any must haves that make life easier and any other advice would be welcome? Thanks everyone in advance Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20208-baby-swimwear/ Share on other sites
Saffron
Are they starting a swimming class together? If so, the class probably has its own guidelines. In general babies need a disposeable swim nappy, with something like a 'happy nappy swim nappy' over the top:http://www.waterbabies.co.uk/product.php?p=3&gclid=CKHl45r0g6wCFYVP4QoddxKZJwIf the pool is cold, you might opt for a baby swim snug or wet suit:http://www.waterbabies.co.uk/family.php?f=Keeping Warmxx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20208-baby-swimwear/#findComment-494038 Share on other sites
jollybaby
As saffron said your best bet is to buy a 'happy nappy' and then use a disposable swim nappy underneath. Most of the local swim classes insist on a double layer system for the under 2s and miss jb's current swim school have specified that they want us to use happy nappies rather than kushies or other brands. They're easy to put on and do seem fairly secure - no leaks so far.
