Structural engineer recommendations

We used Mark at Torcal as recommended via this forum but we wouldn't recommend. When things went wrong with our builders and we needed him to come urgently to assess our site he wasn't interested and said he couldn't attend for 2 weeks. We were in a dire situation and he completely let us down. We ended up getting a new structural engineer to come in which cost us again.

I am at the planning stage of an extension project and a structural engineer is someone who I need to talk to.

To manage costs I am having to consider management of the project myself, so I am currently in the process of getting approximate quotes from all trades. Once I have all the quotes, and an approximate total, I will be able to decide whether or not to commit to the formal architectural/structural drawing, planning application etc.

Would be great to have a chat about your services and my plans.

FYI:

My plans are to have an L-shaped extension to a garden floor in a victorian house converted into two flats.

I have my initial draft plans (accessible online) which I've been using to talk as accurately as possible with other trades.

How best should we get in contact from here?

    • Oh dear. Sadly I had a disappointing meal on Saturday night. I should have read Malumbu's review above before I ordered. I thought I'd have a dosa for a change. Our meal arrived very quickly. However the dosa was more like a thick and very soggy pancake. The filling was fine. The sambar (sp?) was fine. The chutneys were not what I was expecting, and had a consistency more like sauces.  That might be my lack of knowledge of South Indian food, but I would have expected the coconut chutney to at least taste a bit like coconut. I left most of the actual dosa. My OH said his aubergine curry was delicious. I don't know whether the problem was that the dosa got soggy due to being wrapped in foil to be delivered, but tbh it didn't look like it had ever been a thin crispy dosa 😥 as I have always had in the past  at South Indian restaurants.
