craigy
I know there is a whole other thread going on about whether kids trick or treat and I do not want to get into the whole debate about it but was wondering about when those who will be partaking will be putting out theor pumpkins to welcome all the little ghosts and ghouls..With Halloween being on a Monday I thought that the bulk of the Halloween activity would be on the Saturday before so was planning to put my pumpkin out then and go trick or treating myself..Would we be the only ones out there? Pickle
I'm pretty sure it only really happens on the actual day - I haven't ever seen kids out on our street on any day other than the 31st. The Nappy Lady
Agree - 31st. Clocks fall back the day before so it will be dark plenty early enough. nylonmeals
We've been invited to a couple of halloween parties this weekend, so I would assume that there's likely to be trick or treating spread over the weekend and Monday. sillywoman
Noooo, Halloween is on the 31st. Not any other date. I love Halloween & my kids have trick or treated with pleasure since the 1990's, but if you come to my door before the 31st you'll be sent away with a flea in your ear - no matter how cute your kids are. Why would you do that anyway? What's wrong with Monday? sillywoman
Have your party on whatever day you like but trick or treating, when done properly, is only to be done on halloween (IMO). awilliams123
Uh....no. Trick or treating is done only on the 31st, kids are meant to have done their round and be back home quite early in the evening! Usual hours would be something like 5-7pm....I'm not answering my door after 7pm anyway. civilservant
nothing to do with the lawif you're depending on someone else's generosity, then it helps to have a shared understanding about what's acceptable and whenanyone knocking on our door with a 'trick or treat?' any day except 31st Oct will be received with an incredulous laugh and go away empty handed Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20188-when-to-trick-or-treat/#findComment-495802 Share on other sites
