mammamia
I know that the FSID recommendation is to always use a new mattress for each child, and this might sound like a really stupid question, but would you apply this to the pram too?? Planning to use the bugaboo carrycot for new bubba to nap in downstairs for the first while, but will be in the double when we're out & about, and wasn't sure whether should have a new mattress for bugaboo? The Nappy Lady
Unless your first was a very 'sicky' baby I wouldn't worry. The concern is around potential mold spores in the mattress. My mattresses has protectors on, which came off for washing so I washed what I could, aired everything really well & re-used, after lots of reading & asking others what they did.Do what you feel comfortable with - no point fretting.Hope that helps. Ruth_Baldock
We are using the same cot mattress (and cot) with Lex that we did with Seb. We did as Molly did, cleaned and aired everything as best we possibly could. To be fair, he only used the cot/mattress for about 6 months- we coslept till he was 10 months and he moved out of it into his bigger cot when he was about 16mo... mammamia
Thanks ladies, was kind of what I was thinking but thought I'd see what the thoughts were!! Bubba 1 was not sicky at all (fingers crossed for a similar model!!) and her pram mattress always had two sheets on it and a muslin under her head so i reckon anything at all that was sicked or drooled was fairly well contained before it could have got near the mattress, thks x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20090-new-mattress-for-pram-for-2nd-child/#findComment-492096 Share on other sites
