This is a new venture for our Saturday rides and has three starting points: at 9.30 Peckham Square (Peckham Library, Peckham Pulse, SE15 5JR, 10.00 Deal Porter Squ (Canada Water Library, opposite Canada Water Station, SE16 7AR) and at 10:30 Cutty Sark (beside Tunnel entrance, SE10 9HT)

The ride goes to the Thames Barrier and anyone who wants to meet at the Barrier is welcome. The meeting place will be on the south bank, by the Information Centre Cafe and the Thames Barrier Control Room probably around 11.30. We are NOT going to Barrier Park on the north bank so don't wait for us there.

This ride celebrates the Saturday morning Healthy Rides and the opening of the new section of the Thames Path east of the Barrier (the ?missing link?). And it provides a great opportunity to bring the Southwark and Bexley groups together (plus anyone from anywhere else).

Once we have all met up the combined group will ride the missing link. Everyone will then ride back along the link to the Barrier where we have a picnic. All riders need to bring their own food and drink, or buy it from the Information Centre Caf?.

We would normally aim to get back from a ?+? ride at 1pm. Clearly for this ride and picnic we will be much later. The plan is to depart around 1.30 and be back by 3.30. Anyone can leave earlier and get home closer to 1pm but they will have to do their own navigating. The route is here

This is part of the Healthy Rides series of Saturday social rides organised by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for more, safer cycling. Everything we do is free. You don't need to live anywhere in particular or join anything to take part. Everyone is welcome. For more info contact Bruce on 07729 279 945.

New riders are very welcome and the forecast is very good -- fingers crossed. Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk

    • In fact most times things are none of our business but when you see something in your vicinity, you are interested! let’s hope we don’t see any vulgar nosey parker’s on the forum again!
    • I'm trying to get my head around why people think it's exceptable to completely waste you time on here. I give people my personal details ie home address/ mob nunber and you just never hear back from them. You waste your evenings or afternoons waiting for people to collect your items for sell for them to completely ignore your texts and calls. Or another great one is someone will ask if they can collect now then turn there computer off for a few days then ask if it's still available days later!! I'm just so confused with people's mentality on here how people go about themselves on this forum and not one person gets back to me just to say.... Sorry not interested now but thank you. Arghhhhh!!!
    • Do you really want the fox brigade onto you? there are too many people entertaining the foxes & feeding them! they are going nowhere
