Bonfire2010
My son turns one in a few weeks and we'd like to get him some books/toys which he will enjoy but that will also help with his development... We don't want to go too mad price-wise, so I'd appreciate any thoughts on toys which your little one enjoyed but which didn't break the bank. Thanks! Pickle
One of the little wooden blocks trolleys? Our son loved his - he played with the blocks a lot, then eventually used the trolley as a walking aide, it was still going strong a couple of years later being used as all sorts of imaginary emergency vehicles. jollybaby
We've just passed that milestone and I'd second most of the suggestions above. A bag of megablocks (cheap version of Lego/duplo) has been a huge hit - although she's not really building anything yet, she can spend hours taking the blocks out of the bag and then putting them back in. She's also beginning to get into shape sorters and jigsaws. veryseriousgirl
We got a Scuttlebug for our daughter's first and she still absolutely adores it. Best gift of the year! buggie
One of Bugglet's best pressies was an ELC ambulance which has sirens (not too noisy though) and has a nurse, ambulanceman & patient with a trolley - she loves putting them in & out of the ambulance & opening/closing the doors! bluesuperted
Buggie that's hilarious, get the indoctrination started early - make sure she follows mummy into the caring/emergency professions! buggie
Hmm... Happy for bugglet to find her own way (maybe into something caring but more profitable/less stressful!!). The nurse does look a bit like me though! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20064-presents-for-a-1-year-old/#findComment-491788 Share on other sites
crystal7
Would second the wooden blocks with trolley. M 2.5 year old still plays with it sometimes. Another hit was one of those wheely bugs. I was dubious but E used it loads, initially pushing it along and then riding on it, again still does now. Other than than that Galt pop up toy, puzzles, books were well received.
