I have not read all the posts but have to say that women wearing burka's I have no problem with, but as someone who is deaf and lip reads I find any covering of the mouth difficult for me to communicate. This includes those gentlemen who have facial hair covering their lips, people who look down at their feet when talking, those who mutter and talk to you from an angle.


I am sure that many members of the deaf community who do not sign feel the same way.


Having several Muslim friends both male and female, who do not agree with the burka, I am aware that certain sections of Islam choose to wear only the hijab
