Please please recommend a top-notch cleaner :-)

Our lovely cleaner had to go back to Poland recently and we've been at a loss without her as she was great and even made the longer trip to ours when we moved here from Herne Hill last year.

We have a new cleaner who's very nice but unfortunately she's also clumsy (chipped mugs, put a whole in the plasterboard etc), leaves downstairs windows open(!), smears rather than cleans our shower screens and causes our oven to billow with smoke when we turn on the grill after she's 'cleaned' it!

So we're after someone who is reliable, trustworthy, has good attention to detail, not clumsy and with a lot of experience.

Ironing isn't an issue as now we use the fabulous Dulwich Ironing Service so it's just the quality cleaning we need.

Thanks in advance!

I started using the Dulwich Cleaner agency after reading recommendations on here. We also had a lovely but very erratic cleaner beforehand. I can't praise them enough. Agnes is a marvel and our flat has never ever looked so clean. They are reliable too.

    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
