Live4mykids
Hi - does anyone know a good place to buy a child's sari? My daughter is five and her school is celebrating black history month and will be showcasing culture clothing and my daughter has a real desire to wear a sari. Any advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19974-where-can-i-buy-a-childs-sari-dress/ Share on other sites
ad2000
I work in Newham, Plaistow actually, and Green Street would be a great place to buy a Sari. I have bought a couple of sarees from there. The childrens' ones were not at all expensive, and they do lovely salwar kameezes (apologies for spelling. I think Whitechapel and Bethnal Green are good too. Not sure of south London - possibly East Street Market.... Good luck - lovely idea. Goodliz
I have a feeling that one of the stalls in the market off Rye lane might have them (the one with the pet shop and heel bar in). Not 100% but not to far to travel if they don't. MGolden
There are a number of sari shops in Thornton Heath and Tooting Bec has quite a few as well. Lots of choice particularly as Diwali is later this month. mrs.lotte
My tall 4 year year old daughter (wears aged 5-6 clothes) has a pink salwar kameez and a cerise bejewelled 2 piece (skirt and top) brought back from India by one of her lovely school friends which you are welcome to borrow. No sari I'm afraid. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19974-where-can-i-buy-a-childs-sari-dress/#findComment-490199 Share on other sites
claire_1s
I've recently bought my niece (aged 7) a very pretty sari, colourful with lots of embroidery, for a wedding. It was from Tooting, you'll actually be spoilt for choice. Prices are reasonable for kids. You could also look online.
