Battery recycling

Does anyone know if there is anywhere one can recycle batteries? I saw on this forum that there used to be a mobile recycling centre at Sainsburys at Dog Kennel Hill but the thread suggests that it has not returned.

I think there is a box in the exit to sainsbury's DKH- at least theer used to be. For info the Bell Green Sainsbury's still has recycling facilities including small electrical cardboard etc

Yes there's a battery recycling box in the Co-op in Lordship Lane.

https://www.gov.uk/battery-waste-supplier-reponsibilities tells you who must take batteries. So anywhere selling a moderate number of batteries OUGHT to take them

You must offer free collection (?takeback?) of waste or used batteries if you sell or supply 32kg or more of portable batteries per year.

One pack of 4 AA batteries per day equals about 32kg per year.

Tesco recycle batteries. However I do believe that all shops should make an effort to recycle batteries.
