re skip for hoovers

Have couple of hoovers to dispose of. Where is there a skip please?

Ring Southwark Council Bulk waste service. They collect within about a week. Very Good.

Collect within a week? I thought you had to give a months notice.

This is a great service but beware, you can only have one collection a month. Just call them and list what you want to be removed. You can't add anything at the last moment as they won't take it.

There are public waste sites in Vale Street (West Dulwich) and Manor Place (off Walworth Road).

Or post them on Freecycle, as suitable for spares. Then a willing person will come round and collect it, save you the journey to the tip/skip. Much quicker than Southwark too!

If Vale Street is the place near Rosendale Road, then yes, it is now recycling only, they don't take general rubbish.

Manor Place off Walworth Road does, but is very badly signposted.

There's a pretty long list of stuff you can recycle at Vale Street, including electrical equipment.

I think you could just break them up and put them in a green wheelie bin.
