Not exactly a euphemism this, more of a figure of speech, but I just heard someone say it:

?There is an elephant in this room and everyone is refusing to see it.?

No there isn?t you silly tart. Have you ever seen an elephant? They?re hard to miss. Great big grey things. Smell like manure.

Ok maybe not so daft but it just got to me. Not least because the only reason I think she wanted the elephant out of the room was so that it didn?t obscure her blue sky thinking.

either to mean

'far too expensive you are a fool for buying this'

or

'buy this it's loads better than the other ones'

most stuff is 'designed' by 'designers'
