Car roof box

We've just bought a roof box for our car. We are wondering whether it's a good idea to leave it on our car 24/7 (with no valuables in) or whether it's better to store it in our already pretty full garden shed.

Does anyone know if there is a history of roof box break-ins in the area?

I don't know about roof box break ins, but we have a fully lockable, fabric, folding roof box that folds down flat and we store it under a bed when it's not in use. Halfords sell them.

i think they make you use a lot more fuel. aerodynamics etc
