Point and Shoot Cameras

Hello, I'm looking for a point and shoot camera that will fit into a pocket and want to step up from this Canon Digital Ixus https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0012ZEDT6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It gets so confusing when you think you've found something you like then look at the negative reviews that throw it! I'm hoping someone might be able to recommend me one from personal use. I want it for regular photography ie people, travelling, the garden and in low light/night-time. Budget up to ?300. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

I have the Sony rx100 iii and would recommend it.

Thanks Rah, will look into that. I've already shortlisted a Sony DSCHX60 Digital Compact High Zoom Travel Camera with Wi-Fi and NFC so will see how they compare.

Have a look in Fixation in Kennington Lane. Good range of 2nd hand cameras too, all checked out, and expert advice.

Thanks Lynne, looks like it'll be worth a visit to see/hold the cameras and get some advice though shame they're not open at the weekend. Would rather buy from a shop than online if there's not too much difference in the price.
