Bright Horizons Nursery

Afternoon everyone,

Does anyone have experience of the nursery in Sainsbury's car park? My 18 month old has been offered a place there and, although we've been obviously visited and it seems okay, I'd be grateful for any first hand experiences.

Baby Birdseye has been there since she was 10 months old (she's now 3) and loves it. We are very happy with it - the staff are great and really care about the children. They keep them busy all day with activities and although it's a play based nursery, they do try to encourage a bit of learning - colours, shapes, numbers, letters etc - along the way.

Highly recommended and from what I've heard, you are lucky to be offered a place!

snap up that place!! I know lots of people who have used it/are using and are very happy.

I put my daughter on the waiting list when she was 6 months old - she's 9yrs now and we never got a place! I was never happy with our childcare arrangements - all the good childminders/nurseries were full when she was a baby/toddler - one of the reasons I gave up work when number 2 came along..

    • I have tried Ancestry (library) and Findmypast (library and paid). They both pay for archives to digitise some of their holdings. Forget details, Both has things other doesn't but think Ancestry is ahead. I found the search facility frustrating - you needed to play with options a lot.   My dad did research before these sites existed which was harder work but more fun. I recall instances where Ancestry made wrong assumptions (something like mire than one John and Joan Walker in same town).

    • Montessori schools are private so will have to pay VAT.  Not sure what the confusion is. I expect most of us who never even considered sending our kids to Prep school, Montessori or Steiner have particular sympathy.  Of course in a years time we will see and you may say "I told you so".
    • Have you reported to the police, because they are presently proactively investigating a similar recent  local theft in the North Cross Road area. Same MO, opened boxes dumped in a nearby road. This is the person who stole a parcel in Ulverscroft Road. The police are apparently happy for the photos to be shared. Please contact them if you recognise him. Sorry don't know how to remove duplicate screenshot.
