MOTHERSMEETINGS
Hi Mammma'sJust a quick post to ask if there are any places where you can go and let your lil one crawl around? Unfortunately my names of nursing a lil bubba in my arms whilst sipping on a Latte are over ;(Thanks!!!x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19421-are-there-any-soft-playcrawling-areas-around-east-dulwichpeckham/ Share on other sites
Pickle
The Bread of Life cafe at the top of Barry Road is quite good - they have a small selection of baby toys, and a couple of comfy sofas you can sit on - very reasonably priced food and drinks too. Pickle
Sorry, just saw your reply. Yes, it's part of the church. And yes, there is a big need for softplay or similar in ED! buggie
Mon-Thurs, 10-12, there's Toddlerworld @ Crystal Palace Sports Centre... Nice sized space with soft play/rockers/musical instruments for babies/toddlers. There's a cafe in the sports centre (untested by myself) but doubt drinks/food would be allowed into the play area. ClareC
Would second toddler world. Food and drink not allowed in the play area but is allowed on the seats just outside. Cafe quite good too. Nice for lunch afterwards :-) Shame it's not in ED :-( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19421-are-there-any-soft-playcrawling-areas-around-east-dulwichpeckham/#findComment-472845 Share on other sites

mrs f
Well there is an idea... Anyone fancy opening a cafe with soft play... you will do really well round here! I know what you mean tho mm... I find playdates easier at home or at others homes but sometimes it's nice to have someone else make the drinks & bring you cake I did go to bumps & babes in red post hill last fri & that's great but only once a week! Mathilda
Went to Peckham Pulse soft play yesterday and my daughter had a great time. Sessions are on the hour and ?2, and there's a separate area for under 3s. bluesuperted
Also went to Peckham soft play last week and despite misgivings as had heard it was grubby, we both really enjoyed it. Under 3s bit is fun and ball pit was a big hit with my 1 year old. Yak
Yes, I've heard that Peckham soft play has just had a big deep clean and they have bought new toys. The baby gym in Camberwell will reopen next year as part of the next phase of the pool and gym refurbishment too. There's still definitely room in the market for something based in E Dulwich, though... One Sweet World
The cafe on the corner of The Gardens and Peckham Rye has a room at the back with space for toddlers to roam, and a few toys and books. The food and coffee are not the greatest but they seem to have got rid of the grumpy staff; the last couple of times I've been there they've been very friendly and cheerful and my daughter's had a lovely time. One Sweet World
Oh - and I can also recommend Tea Dance for Little People in Brockley (mentioned above) - lovely atmosphere and lots of things for physical and creative play, though at ?5 entry plus extra for food and drink at cafe prices, my daughter gets to go once a week at most. buggie
...where's the Vale's play area?? Went in there a few months back to meet up with NCT friends and there was nowhere for our crawling 10 month olds (at the time) to play apart from cruising laps of the table. The advertised "play area" appeared to be a bookcase with a few books/boardgames for older children. Kimmy1080
I would be more than will to offer soft play equipment at a venue for crawling babies/small toddlers (as posted before on this forum) if others would be willing to assist with the refreshments and supervising side of it all. PM me if you are interested in helping out in any way. I found a great venue in West Dulwich with a large kitchen area too but still looking for a good spot in ED.ThanksKimwww.tippeetoes.co.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19421-are-there-any-soft-playcrawling-areas-around-east-dulwichpeckham/#findComment-474220 Share on other sites
jennyh
oh there is a playroom in the Victoria on Bellenden road, not sure what theyve got but I think I saw some soft mats, books, toys etc. If you fancy a pub!
