wonderwoman
Does anyone know when and where councillor surgery meetings are held? I know Renata used to use the community centre on a Saturday but I've tried a search on the council website and can't see anything scheduled? jamesmcash
Hi wonderwomanIt depends on where you live and who your councillors are. If you go on http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgFindMember.aspx then you can find your councillors there. Clicking on a Councillor?s profile will let you see what surgeries the councillor has scheduled. As you say, Renata from Peckham Rye ward does one at the East Dulwich Community Centre on the second Saturday of the month. If you are a Goose Green resident then I am afraid we have not yet confirmed our surgeries. We are a new ward so we are still finalising plans and investigating venues. Our current plan is to do one on the second Thursday of the month at East Dulwich Community Centre, and another on the fourth Thursday of the month at a venue to the north of the ward but this is still to be determined.Best wishesJames Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/193701-councillor-surgery-meetings/#findComment-1251509 Share on other sites
wonderwoman
Were in Dulwich Hill ward so presumably they would be in same situation as yourselves. jamesmcash
Dear wonderwoman Yes probably. My advice would be to email them directly. Their email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]Best wishesJames Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/193701-councillor-surgery-meetings/#findComment-1251545 Share on other sites
Renata Hamvas
The new surgery times/dates haven't yet been finalised. Peckham Rye Ward has now got 2 councillors and our ward has shifted eastwards, so we no longer have any residents in our Ward to the West of the Rye. The number of residents coming to surgeries has declined over the last 8 years to the extent that we often have no-one coming to see us! We will be doing a surgery once a month at Nunhead Library at 6.30 pm and it is likely to continue to be on the fourth Thursday of the month. jamesmcash
Dear loveED86I am afraid that we are probably not going to do a surgery at the weekend. As Renata says above, fewer and fewer people attend surgeries. So instead we are planning to prioritise engaging with residents door-to-door, as well as through digital means like this Forum. We will still do traditional surgeries but these will be on weekday evenings as we have found that this tends to attract more people. If there?s something in particular that you?d like to raise then please do email me though. OutOfFocus
I have been put of going to surgeries fearing that (like doctors) there would be a queue. Maybe everyone else shares my fear, making it a self non-fulfilling prophecy!
